Bringing Language to Daily Life: Students Express Global Concerns Through English Performances

The Final Examination of the English course was conducted in the form of an event titled “Exhibition of English Skills”. This event aimed to provide students with a real, meaningful, joyful, and mindful learning experience in using the English language. It also served as an opportunity for students to express their English language skills creatively and confidently.

The theme of this semester's exhibition was Palestine, aiming to enhance students' empathy, global awareness, and the ability to communicate social issues through the medium of English. The event took place on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, which coincided with 2 Muharram 1447 H, in H Class of IAI Persis Garut. Students participated in a variety of performances that showcased their English proficiency through different modes of expression.

The performances included: • Drama • Poetry Reading • Storytelling • Singing (Solo and Group) Each group prepared their performance based on the given theme and was encouraged to integrate relevant vocabulary, expressions, and emotions in English.

Through this exhibition, students were not only evaluated based on their performance, but they also experienced the joy of learning English in a creative and collaborative way. The event fostered: • Greater student engagement in English learning. • Increased confidence in speaking and performing in English. • A stronger sense of purpose in using English to convey meaningful messages.

The Exhibition of English Skills successfully created an atmosphere of active and enjoyable English learning. Students demonstrated their potential and creativity in using the English language. It is expected that through this activity, students will continue to develop their English skills by studying diligently, practicing consistently, and embracing every opportunity to grow as confident English users.
