Build Fest ’25: A Journey of Vision, Innovation & Impact

Build Fest ’25, hosted by FlutterFlow and Google Cloud, powered by Hack2skill, brought together a nationwide community of developers and focused on leveraging FlutterFlow and Gemini to solve real business challenges. Over a two-month journey, participants explored the power of Gemini, and the FlutterFlow platform to create functional, scalable applications that addressed critical business needs.
The Vision: Building Apps That Matter
Build Fest ’25 challenged participants to create apps that could make an immediate impact in two key areas:
Acquisition Magnet: Dynamic Customer Journeys Based on Channel Source
Narrative Dashboard: Interactive AI-Generated Business Reports
With FlutterFlow as the platform and Gemini & Google Cloud offering the AI capabilities and scalability backbone, participants had every tool they needed to build.
Where It Began: Opening the Gateway to Innovation
Once registrations opened, the momentum was great!.
To ensure everyone was equipped, every team received two months of free access to FlutterFlow Pro to ease app development.
Guided by the Best: Office Hours & Expert Sessions
We knew that powerful tools mean little without the right guidance. So, we brought the experts in. Across 2 Office Hours sessions, participants got the opportunity to interact directly with:
Frank van Puffelen, Developer Relations Engineer at FlutterFlow
Pooja Bhaumik, FlutterFlow Developer Advocate & GDE (Flutter)
Harsh Dattani, Program Manager at Google
Ayush Shekhar, Enterprise Solutions Architect at FlutterFlow & GDE (Flutter & Dart)
These weren’t just talks. They were Q&A-heavy conversations where participants asked questions on app structure, integrations, Gemini API usage, UI/UX considerations, and more.
As the deadline approached, participants began turning ideas into working prototypes. Each project submission required:
A public FlutterFlow-hosted app link
A project deck outlining their approach
A demo video showing the app in action
A concise app description aligned with one of the two themes
Over 170+ teams submitted full-fledged applications, each more ambitious and thoughtful than the next.
The Final Stretch: Jury Review & Demo Days
From these submissions, the top 41 teams were shortlisted based on functionality, theme alignment, innovation, and execution.
These teams were then invited to Mumbai and Bangalore for our in-person Demo Days, where the top teams presented live to a jury panel of industry leaders from tech, product, and design.
Outcomes That Speak for Themselves
The Build Fest ’25 journey culminated in the announcement of our top three winners, each showcasing the power of thoughtful innovation paired with the right tools. FactCheck AI by Deepto Dutta, our winning project, is a real-time tool that analyzes YouTube videos for misinformation and pseudoscience.
The first runner-up, NeuBiom, is revolutionizing Indian coffee farming through AI-powered advisory and geo-tagged farm insights.
Our second runner-up, VitalsView by Team Code Catalyst, transforms dense medical reports into human-friendly health narratives, empowering families and patients alike.
Conclusion
Build Fest ’25 demonstrated what’s possible when powerful tools, clear problem statements, and a thriving developer ecosystem come together. Hosted by FlutterFlow and Google Cloud, and powered by Hack2skill, the hackathon enabled participants to move from concept to execution with precision.
The top submissions reflect not only technical excellence, but also strong user understanding and a deep commitment to impact. As teams continue refining their applications, Build Fest ’25 stands as a strong example of how ecosystem-driven innovation can scale.
