Introducing Mode and How to Use the Mode Terminal

What is Mode?
Mode is a blockchain platform that allows users to interact with onchain finance more efficiently. It is built as a Layer 2 solution within the Optimism Superchain. The platform is designed to reduce costs, simplify usage, and improve speed when performing blockchain-based actions such as trading, managing positions, or analyzing data.
Developers and traders use Mode to access financial applications that run on smart contracts. It supports a wide range of tools for decentralized trading, data analysis, and reward programs. The goal is to provide a simplified experience for users without compromising flexibility or performance.
Mode offers its own native applications and utilities, including Mode Trade, a decentralized trading product, and the Mode Terminal, which allows users to carry out specific tasks in one place.
What is the Mode Terminal?
The Mode Terminal is a tool designed for onchain users who want to interact with the Mode ecosystem using simple, text-based instructions. It does not require users to manually navigate through complex interfaces or work across several applications.
The terminal supports a wide range of tasks:
Reviewing prices and market data
Preparing transactions for trading
Analyzing positions based on screenshots
Estimating risk levels
Generating summaries of portfolio status
The tool helps reduce the time needed to perform common operations. It also simplifies the experience by consolidating steps that normally require switching between different platforms.
All interactions in the terminal are non-executing by default. This means the user is asked to approve every transaction before it is signed in their wallet.
Why Use the Terminal?
Users who work with blockchain tools often face challenges related to speed, accuracy, and context. Mode Terminal addresses this by making it possible to perform typical actions through natural input. This removes unnecessary friction, especially for those performing repeated or routine tasks.
Examples of practical usage include:
Checking a token’s current price
Reviewing a potential trade setup
Preparing an onchain transaction
Uploading a screenshot to assess liquidation risk
Because the terminal returns contextual results, it reduces the chance of error and helps users stay focused without switching tabs or copying/pasting values between platforms.
How to Access the Terminal
The Mode Terminal is not open to all users by default. Access is granted through the following methods:
Holding or staking 400,000 MODE tokens
Reaching $500,000 in total trading volume on Mode Trade after the launch of the Terminal
Receiving an invite code from the Mode team, community leads, or event partners
If you meet any of these requirements, you can access the terminal directly at:

How to Analyze Positions Using a Screenshot
One of the most useful features in the Terminal is the image-based position analyzer. This tool allows you to upload a screenshot from a trading platform, and receive a breakdown of your current position’s risk.
Here’s how to use it:
Take a screenshot of your open position on a supported platform. Examples include Binance, Bybit, Hyperliquid, or Mode Trade.
Upload the image inside the Mode Terminal interface.
Wait for analysis — the tool will process the image and return the following:
Probability of liquidation
Overall risk profile
Suggestions for improving the position or avoiding risk
You do not need to manually enter any values or settings. The tool reads the screenshot and performs the analysis automatically.
This is especially useful for traders who want quick feedback without having to input data manually or use external calculators.
Key Functions of the Terminal
Task | Description |
Price Lookup | Type in a token name or pair to get recent prices |
Position Analysis | Upload an image to receive risk-related insights |
Trade Preparation | Request a trade setup and have it prepared for wallet signing |
Risk Estimation | Ask for projected liquidation risk and related warnings |
Summary View | Get a report on your account or portfolio without switching platforms |
All actions are prepared for your approval. Nothing is signed or submitted automatically. This ensures that you stay in full control of your wallet at all times.
Caution and Recommendations
The Terminal is a new tool and still evolving. Always review any transaction or result before proceeding. If a suggested trade or action seems unclear, do not sign or approve it.
Keep the following in mind:
Always verify the transaction preview in your wallet before signing
Use the Terminal as a helper, not a replacement for your own checks
If something seems off, stop and ask — Mode’s Telegram and Discord channels are open for support
Summary
Mode is a blockchain network focused on improving access to onchain financial tools. The Mode Terminal is part of this effort, it simplifies tasks by allowing you to perform actions through a single text-based interface.
With features like image-based risk analysis and transaction preparation, the Terminal offers practical solutions for active users who want a more streamlined way to manage their trading and portfolio decisions.
To use the Terminal, make sure you meet the access requirements. Once inside, you can explore its tools without needing to leave the page or install anything else.
