Barcelona vs Real Madrid Dates Confirmed for 2025–26 La Liga Season

Barcelona vs Real Madrid: Spanish club Barcelona has been away from their home, the Camp Nou, for two seasons. After a major renovation, football is returning to the venue from the upcoming season. However, the Catalan club will have to wait a few more days. The next match will be the thrilling El Clasico between Barca and Real Madrid at the Camp Nou. Before that, the two teams will meet for the first time this season at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid.
Recently, the schedule for the 2025-26 season of La Liga, the highest competition in Spanish club football, was published. There, two dates for the two arch-rivals to meet were announced. Real and Barca will meet for the first time at the Bernabeu on October 26 of this year. And the second leg match will be played on May 10 of next year. Real and Barca will play that match at the Camp Nou at an important time of the season.
That means that the opening matches will not be played by the Catalans at their original home. Since there is still some work to be done in the renovation process, the first three matches will be played at the opponent’s field. Defending champion Barca will start the new La Liga season with a match against Mallorca on August 17. Real will aim to start a new journey by shaking off the regrets of last season without a title with a match against Osasuna on the same day.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid set a record of 100 percent defeats to arch-rivals Barcelona last season. In total, Hansi Flick’s team won each time they faced each other four times. Two of these matches were title fights. Real Madrid lost the title to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup and Copa del Rey matches. Then they lost both at home and at Barcelona’s stadium in La Liga. All four of these losses have turned Real Madrid’s season into a failure. As a result, they have a chance to take revenge in the new season.
As usual, Barca’s dugout will be managed by coach Flick, who won the domestic treble last season, in the two El Clasicos announced so far. Real’s dugout responsibilities have already changed. After Carlo Ancelotti took charge of Brazil, Xabi Alonso became Real’s coach. Under whom Los Blancos are currently playing in the FIFA Club World Cup. In addition, there have been several changes to their squad. As a result, there is a hint of novelty in the Barca-Real El Clasico.
