How to use Figma Slides in 7 Simple Steps

Figma Slides is a presentation tool within the Figma ecosystem programmed to aid the creation and presentation of slides. Just think of PowerPoint and Google Slides and Figma Slides as basically the same thing. The only difference being its integration into the Figma ecosystem which offers one or two benefits, for example, being able to pull in elements from your designs directly into your slides and also the use of Auto Layout.

How to Use Figma Slides: 7 Simple Steps

  1. Open Figma and start a new deck

  2. Choose a template: Figma Slides offers various pre-designed templates which you can pick from and if you prefer, you can also start from scratch on a blank canvas.

  3. Add and Edit content as desired: Slides: add in as many slides as you would like using the toolbar.

Text: Click on the “T" icon in the top toolbar to add text boxes for typing out written content. You are free to edit the fonts, colours and sizes of these texts.

Shapes and Images: Add in shapes using the shape tools and drop images directly into your slides as well.

Auto Layout: Figma’s Auto Layout feature can also be used here to create responsive slides.

  4. Organize your slides using either slide view which focuses on one slide at a time or grid view which gives an overview of the entire deck of slides.

  5. Add in interactions and animations using the animate tool to keep your slides fun and engaging.

  6. Collaborate: one of the most important features is that Figma Slides enables you to communicate and work with other team members in real time. You can also leave comments/feedback using the comment tool.

  7. You're done with prepping your slides, reiterating and editing, all that is left to do now is to present them. You can do so by clicking the present button located at the top right corner, and there you have it.
