Why I Still Love Laravel in 2025 (And Probably Always Will)

Laravel in 2025: 5 Reasons It's Still the Best Framework for Developers
Laravel remains a top choice for developers in 2025 due to its enjoyable coding experience, comprehensive built-in features, improved performance with Laravel Octane, a supportive community, and scalability for both large teams and solo projects
I’ve been building web apps for a while now—long enough to see trends come and go. But one thing that hasn’t changed for me? Laravel. It’s still my go-to framework in 2025, and honestly, I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
Let me tell you why.
1. It Just Feels Good to Write Laravel Code
Some frameworks make you fight with them. Laravel feels like it’s working with you. The syntax is clean, everything’s named the way you expect, and it’s just… nice. Writing Laravel code is the closest thing to “fun” I’ve had while coding at 2 a.m. with a coffee in one hand.
2. Everything You Need Is Already There
Need user login? Queues? Scheduled jobs? Real-time events? Laravel’s got it all built in—or available through official packages like:
Jetstream
Breeze
Horizon
Octane
Scout
You don’t have to go hunting around the internet for random libraries that might work together. Laravel gives you a full toolbox right out of the gate.
3. It Got Fast—Like Really Fast
Laravel used to get a bad rap for being slow. Not anymore.
Thanks to Laravel Octane, you can run your app on Swoole or RoadRunner and get insane performance. I’ve seen apps load in milliseconds. It’s wild.
4. The Community Is Still Amazing
The Laravel community is one of the most active and helpful I’ve seen. Forums, Discord, Laracasts, Twitter (yes, I still call it Twitter)—you name it.
If I hit a wall, I know I’m not alone. Someone’s probably already solved the problem and made a package for it.
5. Great for Big Teams or Just You in Your Room
Laravel scales beautifully. I’ve used it for everything from huge enterprise APIs to tiny weekend side projects. Whether you’re doing complex microservices or building your first to-do app, it adapts.
And if you're working with a team, the conventions and structure make it easy for everyone to stay on the same page.
Final Thoughts
Laravel isn’t just “still around” in 2025—it’s thriving. And for developers like me, it still feels like home.
If you’ve never tried it, or haven’t touched it in years, give it another shot. I think you’ll be surprised how modern, fast, and enjoyable it’s become.
