Welcome!

Hey there,
Welcome to the livenglife blog:
Thanks for considering to view this content. When I initially wrote some of this, it was a way to do a brain dump of what's going through my mind especially if I can't sleep at night. Later on, it became more of a reflection time and the fact that I had to think of some things before, I feel it's wasted thinking time if it's not documented somewhere. I've been told that the things I think about is good information for some, so I am hoping you can pick up a few things from here. You don't have to agree with the things, and you certainly don't need to follow the advice.
At the time of writing, I was a 27 year old engineer, and had to figure out most of the things out as an adult. The content mostly is both of a mix of figuring things out as a young adult from being a university student, trying to get employed, working through the first job, figuring out finance, investments, property, and my life on that. This also includes my hobbies and interests around it. Life turned out to be more exciting how people initially described it to me after becoming an adult. This is my way of documenting this journey.
I like my job and I get to solve good engineering problems, but I also acknowledge that it isn't everything of life. My job supports the hobbies and finances my wants in life. I'd like to think that I work to live, and not the other way around. And because I spent a lot of time flying, most of these have been written whilst I was on the plane and couldn't take a nap. I do acknowledge that not everyone would've done a similar pathway or would like to see this, so this may not be your cup of tea.
The main motivation is to leave something behind. As a young person I do like sharing discoveries. Maybe one day, either my immediate family / friends or future family / friends would eventually read this. At least they would get the benefit of some of the things I went through and what I have learnt from it. There was a part of me that wanted to share information and knowledge, but I don't feel the need to shove it to people's face. I am very appreciative that you are still reading it. And I hope there's a few things you can pick up or share with people.
About me
A little about me, I studied engineering and turned more multidisciplinary with my job. I love numbers and have been quite passionate about personal finance. I also tutored in all educational levels as I both like sharing information and also I needed it to keep studying at the university. Going to restaurants, trying food and cooking food are part of my regular routines. I get excited with life hacks, particularly with credit card, cash back, or frequent flyer points, or any free stuff. As a kid, computers and gaming were my hobbies - used to game up to 14 hours and break computers. Nowadays I don't share the same interest, and I don't have the same attention span for gaming. Adulting keeps me busy as it is and some aspects are mind stimulating and exciting enough. Travelling was something I picked up as a 24 year old post COVID and it is quite exciting to experience more of life. I did not grow up with rich or financially savvy parents, nor had lots of travels before. We were first generation migrants to Australia and had to move when I was 18. Hunting for good food is another one, but I don't really much have to share as it's subject to personal preference and opinions. Though usually for subjects of university, travelling, profession, and life hacks, there is always a way of doing things better. And you may also know things better than I do. All of this is "to engineer" my life and choices and to get to the state of "liveng life"
At the time of writing, I don't really know what this is going to be - whether it is a book or blog, or a script for video content. Legally speaking, this is not financial advice. I am not a professional financial advisor, I'm only a personal finance enthusiast. It's only a compilation of advice that works for me. Again, some of these may work or may not work for you.
Didn't really know what to call it but it is somewhere along the lines of engineering my adult life or lifestyle, living my life. The goal is to live the dream.
Disclaimer
None of this will be financial advice or life advice. You can try doing the things here at your own risk. There's a lot of personal implications in sharing my identity and releasing a lot of these information. The introvert part of me just want to stay away from making this content coexist of who I am. I am more afraid that this has career, and personal impacts. I just want to share information, but not need worry about the potential impacts.
