Gus Atkinson: On Sunday, July 6, England suffered a heavy defeat in the second Test of the ongoing five-match series, losing by 336 runs. After winning the toss and choosing to bowl first, England conceded a massive 587 runs in the first innings, with visiting captain Shubman Gill dominating the attack with a double century (269). England were then bowled out for 407, giving India a commanding lead of 180 runs.
Gus Atkinson: In the second innings, England struggled again as Gill continued his dominance, scoring another century (161), accumulating 400 runs in the match. India declared their innings at 427, setting England an imposing target of 608 runs. Gus Atkinson, England ultimately fell short, being dismissed for 271 and handing India a comprehensive victory.
