India’s young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal showcased not just his batting brilliance but also his kind-hearted nature during the ongoing second Test against England at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

In the first innings, Jaiswal played a crucial knock, scoring a fluent 87 after India lost KL Rahul and Karun Nair early. His composed innings helped steady the ship and continued his impressive form in the series. Following his effort, Shubman Gill took charge with a stunning double century, propelling India to a formidable total of 587 all out.

Before play began on Day 4 at Edgbaston, Yashasvi Jaiswal made a young fan’s dream come true. The 12-year-old boy, Ravi, who is visually impaired and an ardent admirer of the Indian opener, had expressed his wish to meet his hero. In a touching moment, Jaiswal not only spent time chatting with Ravi but also gifted him a cricket bat.

Jaiswal has been in sensational form with the bat throughout the series. In the opening Test at Headingley, the left-hander smashed a brilliant century in the first innings. So far, across four innings, he has accumulated 220 runs, including one hundred and a fifty.

As for the ongoing Edgbaston Test, India have set a towering target of 608 runs for England. Shubman Gill played a pivotal role in the second innings, scoring a commanding 161 to help India declare at 427/6.

In response, England are crumbling under pressure, struggling at 83/5. Akash Deep has been the standout bowler, claiming four wickets and rattling the English top order. Due to rain, only 80 overs will be bowled on the final day, with 10 overs lost to the weather.
