National Scholarship Portal Opens CSSS Applications for 2025–26: Apply by July 31


The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) has started accepting applications for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship (CSSS) for college and university students. Students can now submit fresh applications and renewals for the academic year 2025–26 at the official website scholarships.gov.in.
The last date to apply or renew CSSS applications is July 31, 2025. All applicants are advised to complete the online form and get it verified through their respective institutions before the deadline.
Who Can Apply for the CSSS Scholarship?
Eligible candidates include:
Fresh applicants for the academic year 2025–26
Renewal candidates from:
1st renewal (2024–25)
2nd renewal (2023–24)
3rd renewal (2022–23)
4th renewal (2021–22)
This scholarship is offered by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, to support meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds.

Register using your One-Time Registration (OTR) credentials:

Ensure that your application is verified by your institution and supported with the required original documents. Incomplete or unverified applications will be rejected.
Use your Aadhaar-linked information for auto-filled data. Any discrepancies should be updated through fresh eKYC linked to your Aadhaar.
Key Guidelines for Students
Submit a valid and active mobile number and email address for communication.
Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile to complete the process.
Ensure all details are correct. False or incorrect information may lead to disqualification.
Parents or guardians must also use active contact details for receiving notifications.
Responsibilities for Institutions
Institutional nodal officers are requested by NSP officials to verify or reject applications in a timely manner through their institute login. Delays in verification may lead to automatic rejection of student applications.
