FluentData's Vision Following the TICAR Forum

The recent XVI Annual TICAR Forum, organized by the National Society of Mining, Petroleum, and Energy (SNMPE), was not just another event on the calendar. It was a barometer for the industry, a space to gauge the temperature of innovation and understand where transformation in the sector is headed. To capture the essence of the experience, we spoke with our consultant, Anthony Alarcón, who was present and brings us an insider's perspective.
Networking with a Purpose: Beyond Conversation
When asked about the event's atmosphere, Anthony was clear:
"It was essentially a space for networking, but with a focus on presenting use cases and the latest trends in the sector."
It wasn't just about connecting, but about sharing "a kind of lessons learned through the experiences of some companies, not only from the mining sector but from the energy sector as well."
The AI That Captured Attention: Agents and Drones
In a forum filled with key topics like Data Governance and Automation, we asked Anthony what generated the most interest. His answer points to a clear evolution: generative AI, but taken to the next level.
"One of the most important and perhaps lesser-known use cases was the use of generative AI as such, but based on agents," he explains.
He describes how one company has customized an agent with "semantic intelligence," allowing a plant operator to interact with it using real operational terms to identify root causes and propose solutions.
Another disruptive use case was the use of drones for cleaning electrical towers, replacing costly and cumbersome logistics. However, Anthony underscores a fundamental lesson from these implementations: "All these use cases involve a long-term learning process... there is a strong consideration regarding how we adopt this, obviously looking for the opportunity to generate value, but also considering that there is an investment, an effort that is typically long-term. It's not just a switch you flip and the solution starts working."
The Great Challenge: Are Companies Really Prepared?
These conversations and use cases connect directly with the real challenges companies face in Peru. For Anthony, the forum's greatest value is "being able to know what and how companies are moving at a technology level... and to know what trending tools are available that I might be able to incorporate into my process." Seeing proven success stories helps justify investment when faced with budget-related doubts.
This led us to a crucial reflection that Anthony shared:
"Currently, all companies... everyone wants artificial intelligence... leaving data aside... The data culture is very poor... It's very difficult for them to want to generate these artificial intelligence solutions without even having, so to speak, gotten their house in order."
FluentData's Vision: Validated and Reinforced
What was discussed at TICAR was not only interesting but also served as a strong validation of FluentData's strategy.
"The path we are on as FluentData is the right path, and it is the path that most companies will follow," he affirms.
He is referring to agentic artificial intelligence: the creation of systems where multiple agents reason, debate, and refine opinions to arrive at an optimal decision, like a committee of digital experts.
This approach aligns perfectly with frameworks like our own MinEvolve. Anthony explains:
"It's important to understand where we stand... what our level of analytical maturity is... of data governance."
He provides a clear example: "Consider implementing predictive maintenance, but it turns out you don't have sensors on the engine... you have no data, you don't have the main input." MinEvolve, he explains, offers that scaled path, identifying quick wins to build confidence and pave the way for more ambitious projects, minimizing the risk of failure, which, according to statistics mentioned at the forum, can be as high as 70% for AI projects.
A Final Message: The Future is Autonomous
To conclude, we asked Anthony for a message for the FluentData community. His vision is clear and powerful:
"The entire FluentData team should be focused on the latest trend, and I believe that is agentic artificial intelligence. Let's propose these solutions to all our clients because it's the best way to generate value."
He recalls a prediction that placed autonomous decision-making in the year 2040, "however, it is already being developed or is in full development in 2025. So, we have many years of advantage." For him, the combination of GCP's tools and the FluentData team's knowledge is "the perfect combination to drive industries forward... in solutions oriented towards that goal."
The challenge and the opportunity are clear: to guide clients through that process of refinement and trust, so that an agent can make decisions for them. The future of optimization is already here, and at FluentData, we are ready to build it.
