Between Code and People: How I Found Myself in UX Strategy

Hi there! Welcome to my very first post here :)
My name is Ana Letícia, and this is the story of how I realized my place in tech wasn’t just about writing code, it was about creating experiences with purpose.
It all began when I enrolled in a 2-year technical course in System Development. At first, my goal was clear: I wanted to code web systems, work with logic, and dive into programming and I really enjoyed it. But over time, I realized there was something bigger behind every system I built.
Throughout the course, I learned not only how to solve problems with algorithms, but also how to see the logic behind people. I discovered that it's not enough for a system to just work, it must make sense, communicate clearly, and create a good experience for users. That’s when I began seeing design through a more intentional lens.
From the very first year, I served as the Scrum Master and team leader. This taught me to think beyond myself to consider my teammates, our project guidelines, and especially the end user. That experience gave me valuable soft skills like empathy, organization, creativity, leadership, and strategic thinking.
After finishing the technical course, I still felt uncertain. I started a Computer Science degree, but something didn’t feel right. For the first time, logic alone didn’t solve my problem, because the answer wasn’t in logic, but in how I felt.
So I transitioned to Systems Analysis and Development, which is my current degree. And I finally reconnected with my true path. I realized I didn’t need to change careers, I needed to go deeper into what I already loved: the bridge between design, people, and technology.
Today, my goal is clear: I want to become a Product Designer focused on UX Strategy. I’ve been expanding my knowledge beyond my college program, diving into user behavior, strategic design, and prototyping tools.
I believe that to build a great UX strategy, you must understand both sides of the equation, the technical and the human.
I wrote this post to share my journey so far, but also to connect with those walking a similar path. If you’re also transitioning, exploring, or falling in love with UX like I am, feel free to follow me here. Let’s grow together. ^-^
