MS Dhoni: In a video viral on social media, Dhoni is seen feeding cake to his friends on his 44th birthday.
Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni celebrated his 44th birthday in a low-key manner in Ranchi on Monday. A video that has gone viral on social media shows Dhoni surrounded by a few of his acquaintances and close friends, wearing a sleeveless T-shirt and cutting a cake.
Dhoni’s personal and heartwarming moment has given his fans a pleasant glimpse of what is usually rarely seen in public. However, Dhoni’s impact is not limited to Ranchi. His fans in various parts of the country are seen cutting cakes on the occasion of his birthday while praying for his long life.

In several other videos viral on social media, Dhoni’s fans in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, who call him Thala, put up a huge cutout in honor of Dhoni. Now this tradition has become quite common in South India. Fans were seen waving Chennai Super Kings flags and holding Dhoni’s picture in their hands, in which Dhoni was shown in traditional South Indian attire.
Dhoni has millions of fans in South Indian states due to his consistent leadership for many years for the Chennai Super Kings franchise in the Indian Premier League. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is 44 years old. Even though Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020, his charm on the cricket field still remains. He was last seen playing for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025.
The IPL 2025 season was not very special for Chennai Super Kings. However, Dhoni’s calm personality and ability to take decisions in stressful situations continued to serve as a source of inspiration for the team and hope for his fans.
It will take 5-6 months to decide whether to play next season.
This question is also arising in the minds of Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s fans whether Dhoni will be seen playing next year. After IPL, Dhoni had said that, ‘He has 5 to 6 months to decide whether to play next season.’
