One Website, No Ads, 36% More Sales — Thanks, React & Google

In rural Germany, a strong online presence can go a long way, especially for small, local businesses. I was curious to see just how much of a difference a well-built website and Google visibility could make for a trailer rental company: Anhängerverleih Bruckmühl.
To put this to the test, I designed and developed a modern website from scratch using React and Mantine UI (a TypeScript-based component library). The goal was to create a user-friendly, visually appealing platform that clearly displayed trailer prices, measurements, and rental details.
Another key step was establishing a presence on Google Search and Maps, along with setting up the site properly through SSO to ensure discoverability and trustworthiness for customers.
The results were impressive.
In 2023, the trailer rental business recorded $16,450 in sales.
In 2024, that number rose to $22,472, without spending a single cent on paid advertising.
This marks a 36.6% increase in sales, driven solely by a high-quality online presence and improved search visibility.
For a small business, this kind of growth highlights the real-world impact of accessible, well-targeted digital tools.
This project was a clear reminder that even in rural areas, digital presence matters and it doesn’t require big budgets or paid ads to make an impact. With the right tools and a thoughtful approach, small businesses can unlock real growth. I'm excited to keep exploring how simple, well-executed tech solutions can help local companies thrive in the digital age.
