My Engineering Journey: Overwhelming Yet Hopeful
Embarking on an engineering journey is like stepping onto a thrilling rollercoaster— full of unexpected twists and exhilarating highs.
While brainstorming ideas for my first blog, I thought—why not write something completely candid about my engineering journey so far?
It’s only been a year since I joined this field, but already I feel the need to pen down my feelings—a small escape from the daily grind. Thankfully, engineering hasn’t silenced the writer in me… yet.
Don’t worry, this isn’t a depressing story—quite the opposite. It’s a hopeful one.
From competing in contests, grinding through DSA, building resumes, uploading projects, completing assignments, worrying about CGPA, to going through existential crises—it’s a lot to juggle. (And yes, honorary mention to scrolling through reels when procrastination hits.)
Isn’t it overwhelming? Yet, amidst the chaos, lies the beauty of endless learning and growth— what makes this journey beautiful. There’s so much to learn, explore, and upskill. That’s what motivates people like us to take up engineering as a career.
When learning a new skill, progress isn’t exponential. It’s more like a rollercoaster ride, full of ups and downs. And isn’t that what we love about these rides—the uncertainty and the adrenaline rush? It pushes you to your limits and brings out your best.
Talking about myself, I have a knack for learning new things—even if they’re completely outside my domain—just for the thrill of it. Take engineering graphics, for example: I try, then fail, then try again, barely make it, then fail again. This loop perfectly captures my cycle of trying and learning.
But guess what? Losing doesn’t make you a loser. Not trying does.
So here’s to my fellow readers: don’t lose yourself in this journey. Live and love what you do. Remember, growth is the solution to all problems. Stay happy, and know there’s no shortcut to success. And no problem is unsolvable, whether it’s on LeetCode or in life.
In the end, it's not about the destination but the journey and the growth we experience along the way.
