An Indo-Chinese Conflict: The Battle of Galwan

The Battle of Galwan is the collective name for two major conflicts that occurred in the Galwan Valley, a strategically important region along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, India. Despite overwhelming odds, Indian troops bravely fought Chinese forces in the perilous high altitude environment during the Sino-Indian War in 1962.
Twenty Indian soldiers, including Colonel B. Santosh Babu, and an unknown number of Chinese men were slain in hand-to-hand, gunless battle in the second, more recent occurrence in June 2020, which was the worst encounter in decades. It was made feasible by agreements between both parties. Tensions rose during the 2020 conflict, which resulted in lengthy military standoffs and diplomatic negotiations after being triggered by disagreements over infrastructure.
Tensions increased and led to lengthy military standoffs and diplomatic discussions in 2020 as a result of conflicts over infrastructure development, including India's road construction along the LAC. The Galwan Valley, named for the explorer Ghulam Rasool Galwan, is a representation of perseverance and selflessness and remains a sensitive topic in Indo-Chinese relations. The impending Battle of Galwan (2025), starring Salman Khan and directed by Apoorva Lakhia, is one instance of how this momentous occasion has affected the media. It pays tribute to Indian soldiers' valour.
