Ooooohhhhhh my. what a week. A good definition of you learn everyday, cause the amount of brain I’ve fed from is not what i can get anywhere.

My Journey to Web3Bridge is not something i really planned out to, from receiving the acceptance mail on a cool Tuesday morning to getting my things ready to travel on Thursday. Being my first time visiting Lagos I had to call my friend to come and pick me from the park.
On arriving web3Bridge vicinity, i was welcomed by a pretty lady with a pretty smile, later found out that her name is Deborah and i gave her the necessary documents that she requested.

week 0

On entering to my designated hostel the first question i asked was “who is Akan-Imoh?” and they showed me the not too tall guy with beards (though the beards is now rough after the heat of week 1), in there i met the most amazing souls that contributes and still contributing in making this journey so memorable and fun, starting with; Marvelous David (aka the Dude), Odiong (Our able Governor) and Praise Chinonso.

Within few few hours of settling down that’s when some other amazing souls starts coming in, people like Samuel Daniel (DSO) and Billal (My roommate), within some hours of staying together it was like we have known each others for years cause the bonding was so quick but guess what, our able Boss Mr. Ayo told us to enjoy every opportunity we have in this week 0 cause we will never have it again and i thought that it was a joke to scare us but believe me, that main ain’t joking, he meant that statement and he told us that “There’s nothing like deadline over here, that deadline is for dead men” lo and behold it was all true.

Week 1.

Now the heat is up 🔥

The first morning of the first day of week 1, all men are already dressed up ready for the Town-hall meeting that will be holding by 9am, but guess what, all men were so hungry and it was raining heavily, but Tony being the guy that doesn’t believe in limitations i went to search for umbrella, that’s how i went around asking for umbrella and guess what i got one and not just one but a very big one “You know that coca-cola big umbrella, yeaaa that’s what i got” within a twinkle of an eye, all men just mount me inside the umbrella and we all moved together to Mama Solo restaurant to eat.

En-route to the garage where the town-hall meeting holds, i went there with my friends and we sat together, after the successful introduction our chief mechanic (Mr. Ebunayo) addressed us on the importance on building yourself and how it’s the key to the change we want to experience in our lives.

Enjoying the wonderful speech by our chief mechanic Mr. Ebunayo.

After the successful town-hall meeting we were embraced with a warm smile from a tall man that introduced himself as our tutor with the name Franklin Ejezie, my dear brethren this young man started the class with an assessment, though we were informed about the assessment cause we were given a material to study ahead of the assessment day, we did pretty well and so the lecture continued.

After the first day lecture that’s how all men turn to scholar, everybody was studying like their life depends on it and the fun fact is “our life really depends on it” our nights turned to morning and our evening turned to nights cause that’s when most people sleeps.

On the second day of the week 1 that’s on Tuesday i received a call from home that “Dad was hospitalized on Monday and he needs 4 pints of blood”, that was how my day was ruined, my attention was divided cause my mind was not settled but it still didn’t stop me from learning from my wonderful peers. During the course of learning with Mr. Frank Ejezie, I had to come to full realization that there’s more to Blockchain than only crypto, you can do more fascinating things with blockchain that just transacting crypto and Ethereum being the core foundation that gave birth to innovations.

My week 1 mentor words and my words to myself

During our last class with Mr Frank Ejezie he dropped a statement, see you on your last day and that’s if you pass the eviction test and he went on to say specifically to me “Tony, see you too on the last day if you pass the eviction test”

My words: Dear sir Frank, I promise to see you on our last day in this cohort and will be happy to collaborate with you on a big project.

By the end of my 16 weeks with Web3Bridge, i won’t be a newbie anymore in smart contract development, it’ll be a beginning of a dedicated Tony a beginning to an innovator a beginning to a new story yet to unravel.

to be continued….
