Struggled a lot to join the Indian team, Suryakumar said – even talking to friends…

Surya Kumar said, I focused on quality practice sessions and disciplined my life.
Suryakumar Yadav, who plays for the Indian team, is a very good player of the T20 format. Yadav, who started his career with Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, was also in Kolkata Knight Riders for some time. However, in 2018, he returned to Mumbai Indians and is now showing excellent game there.
Suryakumar made his debut in the T20 format for the Indian team in March 2021 at the age of 30. Now he leads the blue jersey in T20. Suryakumar Yadav recently appeared on the ‘Who is the Boss’ talk show with his wife Devisha Shetty. This talk show is hosted by former Indian veteran bowler Harbhajan Singh and his wife Geeta Basra.
He said, “Around 2016, I was satisfied with my life, whatever was happening was fine. I was enjoying cricket but gradually I realised that there is a bigger level. I was scoring runs, yet I kept thinking why I was not getting a place in the Indian team. At that time Madam (Devisha) brought a new turn in my life.”
Shortened the circle of friends and stopped hanging out till late at night
Surya further said, “I reduced my circle of friends. Stopped hanging out till late at night and partying on weekends. We focused on quality practice sessions and disciplined our lives. The 2018 season went well. Then 2019 went even better, and 2020 was like icing on the cake. The graph started climbing from 2018 itself because the door was not opening on its own, so we broke it together.”
I felt that no one was giving him that slight push – Devisha
Devisha, while talking on the show, discussed her role in her husband’s success. However, she refused to take all the credit. Devisha said, “When we got married, he had this feeling that he wanted to go further. He wanted to do something big. But that desire was not as strong as it should have been. I saw that no one was giving him that slight push that he needed. Fun with friends is good. But it should not become an obstacle in your work. It took me a year to explain this to him.”
