Karun Nair was dismissed for 14 runs in the second innings of the Lord’s Test. Cricket fans heavily criticized Nair following another disappointing batting performance in the ongoing third Test between England and India at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

England set a target of 193 runs for India in their second innings. The visitors faced an early setback as opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed for a duck by Jofra Archer. Nair had a good chance to make an impact with a solid innings in the chase.

Karun Nair: However, he was dismissed cheaply for 14 runs off 33 balls by Brydon Carse during the third session on day four.

In the first innings, he had scored 40 runs. Despite being part of all three Tests in the series, Nair has failed to register a half-century in six innings.

Following his poor performance, many cricket fans took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to troll and criticize Nair. Notably, this Test series marked his return to the team after eight years, and his dismissal quickly became a trending topic on X.

India responded with an equal score of 387 in their first innings, thanks to a century from KL Rahul. In the second innings, India bowled out England for 192 runs, with Washington Sundar taking four wickets.

During the third session on day four, India lost four wickets—Jaiswal, Nair, Akash Deep, and Shubman Gill—while chasing. At the end of day four, the score stood at 58 for 4, with India needing 135 more runs to win the match and take a 2-1 lead in the series.
