Good afternoon,
To those of you that will read this, this is my first official blog post documenting my learning journey in which i’ll be touching many subjects. The reasoning for starting this blog is for me to actually put into writing what i’ve learned and to hold myself accountable if I find myself rushing through projects or coursework. At the end of the day, you can’t fluently speak about things you don’t truly know. Last week, I had an idea for an app, so I started using AI and cursor to try and help me build it, turns out, it was nothing like I envisioned, no matter how many times I tried to adjust or change the prompt. So I decided to dive a little deeper and try to teach myself how to truly code. With my Cybersecurity degree path I had a programming class with python, and I enjoyed it significantly, however it didn’t teach my in depth of what I am looking to try to do, so this is what I did.
This morning, I woke up at 5:15, a little earlier than my usual wakeup time. I made some coffee and got to work. I’m using a site called freecodecamp.org(FCC for the rest of the blog post) along with W3 schools to aid in this. The specific program in FCC that I was working in was Responsive Web Design. Prior to this morning, I had little to no knowledge of how to code using HTML or CSS, and I still have little knowledge of it; but its more than I had Sunday. I learned about about figures, image sourcing, and layouts such as headers and paragraphs. This was my day 1 learning experience, and thanks for reading along.

Hey, I’m Dylon - a father, husband, builder, and lifelong learner on a mission to break into the world of software and cybersecurity. By day, I juggle work, parenting, and classes. During the night, and early mornings, I’m deep in Python, networking, ethical hacking, and web design. This blog documents my journey from absolute beginner to certified tech pro. I share everything I learn, from the small wins to the bigger breakthroughs — whether it's a new script, a security tool breakdown, or a responsive layout that finally clicks. If you’re balancing life, work, and a dream to get into tech, I hope this space helps you feel less alone. Let’s build, break, and learn together.
