Liverpool said no to Bayern Munich’s first offer of £58.6 million for their forward Luis Diaz.

Bayern tried to sign Diaz earlier this month, but Liverpool told them he wasn’t available.

They confirmed that again on Tuesday by rejecting the German club’s first official bid for the 28-year-old Colombian star.

Liverpool see Diaz as a very important player in Arne Slot’s team and believe he is worth more than £87 million. His contract runs until the summer of 2027.

Last season, Diaz scored 22 goals for both Liverpool and Colombia. Thirteen of those goals came in the Premier League, helping Liverpool win the title by a 10-point margin.

Manchester City showed interest in him last summer, and some clubs from Saudi Arabia are also interested.

At the same time, Liverpool are searching for a new striker. Their main target is Sweden’s Alexander Isak, who plays for Newcastle.

According to BBC Sport, Liverpool—now the Premier League champions—have already taken real steps to try to sign Isak and are also checking out other possible strikers.
