The SkyFi Platform API is a Satellite-as-a-Service (SataaS) API that allows developers to search, order, and receive satellite imagery on demand. With this API, you can:

  • Search a global imagery catalog: Find existing (archive) satellite images that cover your Area of Interest (AOI) based on location, date range, cloud cover, resolution, and other filters.

  • Order satellite imagery: Place orders for archived images (existing historical images) or task new satellite captures for future dates. The API supports various product types like daytime optical images, night images, multispectral, hyperspectral, video from satellites, synthetic aperture radar (SAR), and stereo imagery.

  • Receive data in your cloud storage: Configure deliveries so that imagery is delivered directly to your own cloud storage bucket (AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage, or Azure Blob Storage). The API will handle delivering GeoTIFF imagery and related files to the specified location.

  • Automate and integrate with applications: Integrate Earth observation data into your applications or workflows. For example, you can use the API to programmatically monitor an area for changes, get notifications when new imagery is available, and download imagery for analysis.

  • Subscribe to notifications: Set up webhooks to be notified when new imagery matching your criteria is added to the catalog (useful for monitoring areas of interest in near real-time).

  • Check satellite pass feasibility: For tasking (new image captures), you can query which satellites can capture your AOI within a given time window and get feasibility reports.

In summary, the SkyFi API is a full-featured platform to obtain satellite imagery, from searching existing images to tasking new captures, all through a developer-friendly interface.
