You've made it through 12 blogs, but here's what matters most — how to start and grow your cybersecurity career, step by step.


Phase 1: Foundation (Year 1)

  • Learn Networking (CompTIA Network+ or Cisco basics)

  • Learn Linux & CLI tools (Kali, Ubuntu, basic scripting)

  • Understand Cyber Threats, Malware, Phishing, CIA Triad

  • Try platforms like TryHackMe Beginner Path


Phase 2: Hands-on Skills (Year 2)

  • Play with Wireshark, Nmap, Burp Suite, Metasploit

  • Study Cryptography, Web Security, and File Systems

  • Learn how SOC works – do virtual SOC labs

  • Start writing blogs + GitHub readmes on your learning


Phase 3: Specialization (Year 3)

Choose your track:

  • SOC Analyst – focus on Splunk, ELK, incident response

  • Penetration Tester – learn OWASP, Bug Bounties, Exploits

  • Cloud Security – start with AWS + IAM security

  • GRC / Risk – learn ISO/NIST + policy making
