Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant are likely to feature in the fourth Test at Old Trafford, according to Sky Sports reports. The Indian and England cricket teams are preparing for the penultimate match of their five-Test series scheduled to begin on July 23 at Old Trafford, Manchester. There remains some doubt over the participation of Jasprit Bumrah and Pant for this crucial fixture.

Jasprit Bumrah is set to play only three out of the five Tests on India’s 2025 England tour due to workload management. Having participated in two Tests and been rested during the second Test at Edgbaston, he may sit out the fourth Test to remain fresh for the series decider.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant suffered a finger injury in the third Test, which forced him to relinquish wicketkeeping duties to Dhruv Jurel and caused visible discomfort while batting. His availability for the next Test depends on his recovery from this injury.

Sky Sports indicates that both players will be included as India looks to even the series in the upcoming match. Despite earlier suggesting he would play only three Tests in the series, Jasprit Bumrah is now set to be part of the playing XI at Old Trafford, aiming to help India level the contest.

The report also mentioned that Pant is expected to recover before the fourth Test begins.

“Pant sustained a finger injury while wicketkeeping during the first innings. Although he was well enough to bat, he couldn’t keep wicket. It is believed that he will be fit to resume wicketkeeping duties for the fourth Test,” the report added.

Rishabh Pant delivered a stellar innings of 74 runs in the first innings at Lord’s but managed only nine runs in the second. Jasprit Bumrah took an impressive five-wicket haul in the first innings. Despite their efforts, India narrowly lost the match by 22 runs in a thrilling contest.

On the other hand, England have named their squad for the fourth Test, with Liam Dawson replacing spinner Shoaib Bashir. England currently lead the five-match series 2-1.
