Ravindra Jadeja Joins Kapil Dev as Only the Fourth Player in History to Achieve This Monumental Feat

Ravindra Jadeja has become only the fourth player in history to surpass 7,000 runs and 600 wickets in international cricket.

In the third Test of the five-match series at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, the England cricket team defeated India by 22 runs. Chasing a target of 193, Ravindra Jadeja put up a remarkable fight with an unbeaten 61, nearly guiding his team to victory. Despite his efforts, India was bowled out for 170 runs, losing the match.

Following this Test at Lord’s, Ravindra Jadeja secured an exclusive milestone. The Indian all-rounder has now played 361 international matches, accumulating 7,018 runs and taking 611 wickets.

Ravindra Jadeja is the second Indian to reach this illustrious milestone, joining former captain Kapil Dev, who scored over 8,000 runs and took 687 wickets during his career. The only other players to have achieved this feat are South Africa’s Shaun Pollock and Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan.

Demonstrating excellent batting form throughout the series against England. In the second innings at Lord’s, he notched another half-century, following his 72 runs in the first innings and an unbeaten 61 in the second.

Ravindra Jadeja has amassed 327 runs in six innings at an impressive average of 109.0, making him the fifth-highest run-scorer in the series so far. Additionally, he has taken three wickets. After England’s win in the third Test, they now lead the five-match series 2-1.

Both teams are gearing up for the fourth Test, starting on July 23 at Old Trafford, Manchester. India aims to make history, having never won a Test match at this venue.

Meanwhile, spinner Shoaib Bashir has been ruled out of the series with a finger injury. England have named Liam Dawson as his replacement, marking Dawson’s return to Test cricket after an eight-year hiatus.
