Why TryHackMe is a Must-Try for Cybersecurity Enthusiasts

Recently, I've really gotten into TryHackMe labs. It's my daily fun activity. It feels like when I used to play Vice City or IGI after coming home from school, turning on my PC without even changing out of my uniform, and not stopping until I finished the mission. Those were the good old days.
I have completed several beginner-friendly rooms.
Why Do I Love TryHackMe?
1) Easy-to-Understand Tasks
Each room is divided into small tasks. This breakdown helps you absorb information without feeling overwhelmed, making it easier to learn complex topics. This approach allows you to develop your skills step by step, gaining confidence as you progress. Plus, the interactive nature of the labs keeps the learning process engaging and enjoyable.
2) Variety of Topics
It's never boring. Just like playing different missions in a game, you can try any lab, from penetration testing and phishing simulators to networking and digital forensics. There's so much to explore. The variety ensures that there's always something new to learn, keeping the experience fresh and exciting.
3) Beginner-Friendly
I'm not deeply into cybersecurity. I mostly wanted cybersecurity awareness, but it's a great starting point for those who want to genuinely begin learning cybersecurity in a fun and relaxed way. The platform offers a welcoming environment for beginners, making it easy to dive into the world of cybersecurity without feeling intimidated.
Labs I recently completed and recommend:
1) Phishing: HiddenEye
Performing a phishing attack on my own was mind-blowing. I wondered, is this really how it works? It's definitely something you have to try! The experience was both eye-opening and educational, providing a hands-on understanding of phishing tactics.

2) Malware Analysis:
I started the Malware Analysis module today with the 'History of Malware' room, and it was fantastic! Also, don't miss the Cascade Virus video included in the lab. The video provides a captivating live demo of how a virus works.

3) Intro to Digital Forensics
I learned how to investigate compromised systems, extract digital evidence, and analyze artifacts to uncover the details of a cyber incident.

Conclusion
In the end, I would say it's an exciting platform that everyone interested in cybersecurity should try, whether you're just starting out or eager to expand your knowledge. It offers a variety of labs and exercises that provide practical experience and deepen your understanding of cybersecurity concepts. Whether you're learning about phishing, malware analysis, or digital forensics, there's something valuable for everyone.
