After returning to the Indian team, now Karun Nair has returned to the Karnataka team as well

After returning to the Indian cricket team, now experienced batsman Karun Nair has also returned to his domestic team Karnataka. Let us tell you that due to poor form, he did not get a place in the Karnataka team for the domestic season, so he played the last two domestic seasons for Vidarbha, where he performed remarkably.
However, now due to personal reasons, he has once again returned to the Karnataka team. He will be seen playing for Karnataka in the upcoming domestic season 2025-26, which includes domestic cricket tournaments like Ranji Trophy, Irani Trophy, Vijay Hazare, and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Nair returned to Team India after a long time
It is worth noting that Nair scored a triple century against England in 2016, and after a gap of almost eight years, he has returned to the Indian Test team in 2025. His return was possible after consistent domestic performances for Vidarbha, where he scored 863 runs in Ranji Trophy and 779 runs in Vijay Hazare Trophy. However, his return to international cricket was not as he had expected.
So far, in three Tests on the current England tour, the right-handed batsman has scored 20, 31, 26, 40 and 14. With India trailing 1-2 in the five-match Test series, his place in the playing XI for the fourth Test is doubtful. With fans clamouring for the selection of young left-hander Sai Sudharsan, the Old Trafford Test could see a change in the team.
Meanwhile, the 33-year-old left the team in 2022 after being dropped from the team and made a fresh start with Vidarbha. However, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has re-signed with him for the upcoming season, and Nair’s arrival has once again strengthened Karnataka’s batting unit.
