For months, the big question around Summer.fi’s governance token has been
When will SUMR be transferable?

Now, we have movement.

Lazy Summer DAO has just announced the formation of a SUMR Transferability Working Group — a dedicated team of contributors tasked with designing the roadmap for turning on SUMR transfers.

This is a focused initiative with structure, momentum, and a public kickoff.

What is the SUMR Transferability Working Group?

The Working Group is a small but high-context team formed to:

  • Define how SUMR transferability should work
  • Map out key milestones
  • Incorporate community feedback
  • Execute fast (but safely)

The process is strategic. Lazy Summer DAO wants SUMR to become transferable in a way that strengthens community incentives, supports healthy market behavior, and sets the DAO up for long-term success. And it’s been done in the open.

When does it start?

Today, Monday 21st July

The first call sets the stage for how decisions will be made, how feedback will be collected, and what the timeline might look like.

If you’ve been watching SUMR evolve from governance-only to powering Beach Club referrals and DAO proposals, this Working Group is the bridge to its next chapter.

Why does this matter?

Token transferability is about unlocking new forms of participation.

Right now, SUMR lives at the core of Summer.fi’s ecosystem, used for:

  • Claiming Beach Club rewards via referrals
  • Participating in **governance proposals

    **

  • Powering future incentive programs

But the token remains non-transferable.

By launching a Working Group, Lazy Summer DAO is signaling that transferability is on the calendar, with contributors, a plan, and open calls for feedback.

How can you get involved?

You don’t need to be a dev or DAO native to plug in. The best way to follow progress is through:

  • [Summer.fi’s telegram community

  • [Community updates on Lazy Summer Forum

This is your chance to shape one of the biggest turning points in Summer.fi’s evolution.
