With her brilliant innings while India batted first, Harmanpreet equalled the legendary Mithali Raj’s record for the second-most hundreds for the Indian women’s team in ODI history. She is now joint second on the list, while veteran batsman Smriti Mandhana tops the list with 11 centuries.

Harmanpreet batted at a brilliant strike rate of 121.42 facing 84 balls at the crease and played a brilliant innings of 102 runs. Thanks to her innings, the visiting team scored an impressive score of 318 runs for 5 wickets in 50 overs in the deciding match of the series. She started cautiously but did not leave any loose ball. She hit 14 fours in her innings.

Indian women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur on Tuesday became only the third player to score over 4000 ODI runs for the country. She achieved the feat during her 102-run knock in the third ODI against England Women at Chester-le-Street. Before Kaur, only Mithali Raj and Smriti Mandhana had reached the same milestone for India.

Overall, she is the 17th player in the world to score more than 4000 runs in WODIs. Kaur now has 4,069 runs in WODIs – the third-most after Mandhana’s 4,588 and Mithali’s 7,805 runs for India. Harman’s innings also ensured that India finished their innings on a strong score of 318/6 in the series decider.

Besides this, Harman also became the sixth player in WODI history to score more than 1000 runs in a single country away from home. Before Kaur, Belinda Clark, Karen Rolton, Mithali Raj, Debbie Hockley and Charlotte Edwards had achieved this feat.

Indian captain Kaur is the second Indian batter after Mithali Raj to score more than 1000 ODI runs in England. Mithali and Harman are the only two overseas batters to score more than 1,000 ODI runs in England, with Australia’s Ellyse Perry third with 962 runs in England.
