DAY 01 - Learning Electronics Foundation – Etalvis Learning Journey Begins

Hello Again, Friends! 👋
I’ve just started a new learning journey with the “Electronics Foundation” course offered by Etalvis Learning, guided by Mr. Balajee Seshadri.
If you're interested in learning electronics from the basics, I highly recommend reaching out to Mr. Balajee Seshadri and joining the course through ETALVIS.
📘 Day 01 – Learning Ohm’s Law
Today, I learned about Ohm’s Law — one of the most important laws in electronics. It helps us understand the relationship between voltage, resistance, and current.
Here’s what I understood:
Voltage – It refers to the speed of the electron flow.
Resistance – It refers to how much the flow of electrons is restricted.
Current – It refers to the amount of electrons flowing through a conductor at a time.
⚠️ Electronic Boom: Real-Life Incident
I once bought a cable that fits the DB-8 2-Pin AC Plug Panel Mount Connector. While using it, the cable started heating up badly. Then I tried using another similar cable — and this issue didn’t happen.
That’s when I noticed: The first cable had no markings or specifications written on it.
Lesson learned: Always check the specifications of cables before buying or using them. Faulty cables can be dangerous!
🎯 Now Let’s Talk About Resistors
I think most of us are already familiar with resistors — those small components with color bands on them. It’s time to play with them a bit.
Back in school, we learned about series and parallel connections. Now we’re going to explore the same concepts with resistors.
🔗 What is a Series Connection?
In a series connection, resistors are connected end to end — one after another in a single path.
🔀 What is a Parallel Connection?
In a parallel connection, the top ends of the resistors are connected together, and the bottom ends are also connected together — creating multiple paths for current to flow.
🚀 What’s Next?
In my next blog post, I’ll share the formulas for series and parallel resistor calculations and show how to simulate them using LTSpice.
⚡ Be Safe With Electricity
Always be careful while handling electrical components. Safety comes first.
Thanks for reading — and see you in the next post!
