Why I’m Starting This Blog – My Journey to Outreachy or open source

Hello there!
This is my very first blog post, and I’m excited (and little nervous) to begin documenting my journey in tech, open source, and applying to the Outreachy internship.
* Who Am I?
I’m Noorish Fatima — an 18-year-old aspiring Data Scientist and AI/ML Engineer from Pakistan. I’m currently learning Python through Angela Yu’s “100 Days of Code” course, exploring Flask, Git, GitHub, Data Science, ML, AI and preparing for my future in open source.
* Why This Blog?
I started this blog for several reasons:
- To publicly document my learning (as recommended by Outreachy)
- To stay consistent and reflect on my progress
- To share my journey with other beginners who might be just like me
- To keep track of contributions and build a portfolio
* What You’ll Find Here
On this blog, I’ll be sharing:
- Learning logs (daily or weekly)
- Notes on Python, Flask, Git, and Data Science, ML, AI
- My experiences with Open source contributions
- Tutorials and helpful resources I discover
- Updates about my Outreachy application journey
* My Tagline
“Small steps, big dreams — my learning journey to Outreachy or open source.”**
This perfectly captures my mindset. I may be starting small, but I dream big.
* What’s Next?
Over the coming weeks, I plan to:
- Continue learning core tools like DS, ML, AI
- Explore beginner-friendly open source projects
- Make meaningful contributions
- Apply for Outreachy’s next round
Stay tuned — and if you’re on a similar journey, let’s connect!
