Why I'm learning AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate

I’m Vraj, currently pursuing my Master's in Information Technology in Germany. During my studies, I’ve developed strong programming skills in Python and gained hands-on experience with AI technologies like Machine Learning and Deep Learning. I’m also deeply interested in DevOps and Cloud — and I believe that at some point, everything in a modern tech stack connects through these domains.
While I’m already blogging about my DevOps journey, I’m now kicking off a new blog series called The AWS Blueprint, where I’ll be documenting my path to becoming an AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate.
One of the main reasons I chose to focus on AWS over other cloud providers is its strong presence in the German and European tech industry. Many companies here are actively adopting AWS for its maturity, global infrastructure, and wide range of services. As I prepare for a career in this region, it makes sense to align my skills with what’s in demand. Learning AWS not only opens up more job opportunities but also provides a solid foundation for understanding how real-world cloud systems are built and managed. Additionally, AWS integrates well with the DevOps tools I’m learning, making it a perfect addition to my technical stack.
To guide my learning, I’m following Stephane Maarek’s highly rated AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate course on Udemy as well as AWS Docs. His hands-on approach and real-world explanations make complex topics easier to grasp. Along the way, I’ll be writing blog posts to document what I learn, which forces me to understand each topic deeply and stay consistent with my progress.
My first technical post will cover How AWS Is Built: Understanding Regions, AZs, and Edge Locations. Stay tuned!
