Coding, College, and Career Dreams

by Tushar Nangare
Hi, I’m Tushar Nangare, an engineering student from PES Modern College of Engineering. I wanted to write this blog to share my journey in the field of IT — where it all started, what I’ve learned so far, and what I’m working towards now.
My Background
I completed my schooling from S.P.M.V., Rahuri, and did my higher secondary education at Rahuri Education Society. After that, I decided to pursue my engineering degree in Information Technology.
I chose IT mainly because I saw how big the tech industry was becoming during the COVID-19 lockdowns. While everything else was slowing down, IT was booming. That’s when I realized this is the field I want to grow in.
Where My Coding Journey Began
In my first year, I started learning Python, and it quickly became my favorite. The language felt simple and powerful at the same time. I even started exploring Django, which helped me understand how web apps are built.
Second Year – DSA and OOP
In the second year, we had two major subjects:
Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA)
Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
I initially started DSA with C++, but I wasn’t comfortable with it. So I switched to Java and continued solving problems there. Java made more sense to me, and it became my main language for DSA.
For OOP, I also learned Java, which helped me understand concepts like classes, objects, inheritance, etc.
MERN Stack and Web Development
Now, since placements are near, I’ve started focusing on MERN stack development, which includes:
MongoDB
Express.js
React
Node.js
I’m enjoying this journey because I can now build full-stack projects from scratch and actually see things working in real time.
A Little Bit of AI & Data Science
Apart from web dev and DSA, I’ve also explored Data Science and AI out of interest. I’ve learned some useful libraries like:
NumPy
Pandas
Matplotlib
Scikit-learn
It’s a fascinating field, and I’d love to explore it more in the future.
Focused on Placement
Right now, my full focus is on preparing for placement. I’m working hard on improving my DSA skills using Java and building projects with the MERN stack. I want to make sure I’m ready with both skills and confidence when the opportunity comes.
My parents have high expectations from me, and I want to make them proud by getting placed in a good company as soon as possible.
Hobbies & Interests
When I’m not coding, I enjoy:
Watching thriller movies
Playing badminton
Swimming — it helps me relax and refresh
Final Words
This is just the start of my journey, and I have a lot more to learn. I’m excited to keep improving, keep building, and hopefully inspire a few others along the way. Thanks for reading — and if you’re also on a similar path, I wish you all the best!
Let’s keep growing, one line of code at a time.
