It has always been the not knowing where I might be swept off to that fueled the endless kicking of this blog down the road, but late is as good as a time as any to get this thing started. And to get right to the point of it all, everything I write here will be about untangling the thoughts in my head about these three things in particular:

1. everything I want cyber security to be.

2. everything about where cyber security is going that scares me.

3. everything that gives me cyber security related headaches. (which is a lot 🥲)

And a selfish motivation that I am happy to admit is that I love to write, but find myself not having enough time to do it. So this ends up being a two CVEs one patch kind of experience for me (iykyk). So I hope to make the things I write about as interesting for you to read as it is for me to write them.

And for anyone reading this who has also been making excuses to not do a thing in their life, just know that as I’m writing this, there wasn’t some amazing experience or chance encounter that motivated me. I kind of just remembered that this was something I wanted to do and decided to actually do it. Or I should say, decided to actually start it.

So with that, welcome to Next Up! A security blog that’ll aim to teach, motivate you to ask yourself security questions on things you might’ve overlooked, and share stories from me and others that’ll keep you tuning in for more.
