At just 13 years old, Kauan Basile has already become one of Brazil’s most talked-about young footballers. Raised in Santos, Basile is the son of former Brazilian footballer Andrezinho but the young prodigy is quickly carving out a name of his own. With his exceptional talent, many believe he could be Brazil’s next big star some even calling him the “next Neymar.”

Basile first gained attention at the age of 8 when he signed a sponsorship deal with Nike, becoming the youngest athlete ever to do so. For comparison, Neymar signed with Nike at 13 and Messi at 15, meaning Basile broke both of their records.

His natural skills in dribbling, passing, and goal-scoring continue to impress. Last year, at just 12 years old, he captained the Santos U-16 team to victory in an international youth tournament demonstrating leadership well beyond his years.

Now at 13, Basile is preparing to join the U-18 squad. Just days ago, he made headlines again by signing an image rights deal with Santos. Notably, the only other player to secure such a contract at such a young age was Neymar himself.

If Basile continues on this path, Brazil could be looking at the rise of its next global football icon.
