Why Australia Might Be the Most Underrated Opportunity in Global Venture Right Now

Last week, I attended the Venture & Capital Conference in Sydney, organized by Wholesale Investor, and I was genuinely inspired by the quality of founders, companies, and conversations driving Australia’s growing tech scene.

The conference aimed to bridge the funding gap by connecting high-growth startups with investors across various sectors, including AI, MedTech, FinTech, defense technology, and digital assets, and it delivered.

Some of the world’s biggest tech successes started in Sydney, including Jira, Canva, Afterpay, and Zip. The next generation of Aussie founders is already building and aspire to take their ideas to the global markets.

But there’s still a gap.

Early-stage startups in Australia lack access to capital and global scale support.

The threshold for becoming an accredited investor is high, and regulations are complex.

That’s a signal.

A signal that US investors have a real opportunity to support world-class innovation and discover undervalued opportunities that can turn into 10X exits.

Especially in the AI space, where global investment is booming, yet early-stage support in Australia remains limited and largely untapped.

As The Hon. Jacqui Munro MLC mentioned in her keynote, "AI makes Australia globally competitive, and the markets play a pivotal role in deciding where capital flows. But there is a role for government to play in setting up the conditions to enable the equality of opportunity and potential for economic mobility."

That’s where we at Forcoda Ventures see an opportunity.

We’re scouting high-growth startups in Australia to help them:

→ Validate product & market
→ Prepare for US expansion
→ Raise funding with clarity & traction

We don’t just invest - we build.

And we see real opportunity in supporting the next Canva or Atlassian before the rest of the world catche[s on.

Huge](https://www.linkedin.com/in/steve-torso/) thanks to Steve Torso and the Venture and Capital Conference team for an incredible event and to everyone I met who’s building something that ma[tters.

Now it’s time to scale what’s possible.
