Problem Overview

After applying the 25C patch on Oracle Fusion Applications, some developers have noticed that REST services are missing from the Oracle ERP Adapter catalog. This issue directly impacts Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), where:

  • Reactivating existing integrations begins to fail

  • Adapter activities cannot be reconfigured due to the missing services

This disrupts not only new integration development but also maintenance of existing integrations. In short, the patch causes a breakdown in the expected behaviour of the ERP Adapter.

In an ideal scenario, patching should enhance system functionality—not break it. Unfortunately, this update has created the need for a workaround to keep business processes running smoothly till Oracle comes up with a fix.*

Workaround:

Restoring Missing REST Services

This workaround can help you bypass this issue by creating a profile option in your Cloud ERP setup. The steps below will guide you through the process of creating and assigning a new profile to your service account user.

Step-by-Step Guide:

Step 1. Log in to the ERP Cloud Home Page

Start by logging into the Cloud Applications home page.

Step 2. Create a New Profile Option

Navigate to: Setup and Maintenance → Tasks → Search for Manage Profile Option

  • Click the "+" button to create a new profile.

  • Fill in the following fields:

ElementDescription
Profile Option CodeORACLE.BC.REST.IGNORECATALOGERRORS
Profile Display NameIgnore REST resource catalog errors.
ApplicationOracle Middleware Extensions for Applications
ModuleOracle Middleware Extensions for Applications
Description<Description>
Start DateSelect current date

Oracle Fusion Manage Profile Options

  • Click Save and Close.

Step 3. Enable Profile Option Levels

On the next screen, under Profile Option Levels, ensure the following options are selected:

  • Enabled and Updateable for both Site and User levels.

Oracle Fusion Manage Profile Options

  • Click Save and Close.

Step 4. Assign Profile Values

Now, go back to Setup and Maintenance and search for the task: Manage Administrator Profile Values

  • In the Profile Option Code field, enter: ORACLE.BC.REST.IGNORECATALOGERRORS and click Search.

  • Under Profile Values, click the "+" icon to add two new rows:

  • Select these two Profile Level list options in each row.

    • Select Site and enter 'true' in the Profile Value field

    • Select User and enter the username in the Username field and 'true' in the Profile Value field.

Oracle Fusion Manage Administrator Profile Values

  • Click Save and Close.

Note: After saving the profile changes, allow up to 30 minutes for the REST resources to reappear and become available within the Adapter Endpoint Configuration Wizard in OIC.

Summary:

While it’s unfortunate that a system patch introduces such regressions, this workaround provides a reliable way to restore missing REST services in Oracle ERP Adapter. Until Oracle addresses this issue in a future update, this solution ensures your integrations remain functional with minimal downtime.

If you're managing a complex OIC integration landscape, consider documenting these steps within your internal support wiki to speed up resolution for similar issues in the future.
