After returning from the England tour, Indian Test team captain Shubman Gill will be seen captaining the North Zone in the domestic cricket tournament Duleep Trophy 2025 starting from August 28. It is worth noting that before the start of the England tour, 25-year-old Gill was given the command of Team India.

So, under Gill’s captaincy, Team India tied the five-match Test series 2-2 on the England tour. Gill also scored a total of 754 runs during this entire series and also became the Player of the Series. After the England tour is over, he will now be seen leading the North Zone in domestic cricket. To help Gill in the North Zone team, Haryana’s top order batsman Ankit Kumar has been given the responsibility of vice-captaincy.

Apart from this, if Gill plays for the national team during the Duleep Trophy, then Shubham Rohilla has been included in his place as a replacement. Also, Gurnur Brar will be seen playing in place of Arshdeep Singh, if Arshdeep is unable to participate in this tournament for any reason, since the Asia Cup is starting in the UAE from September 9.

In this regard, some of the international players selected in North Zone may be selected for the multi-nation tournament. For this reason, replacement players have also been selected in the team. North Zone is going to face East Zone in its first match in the Duleep Trophy.
