Protect Your Walls with Dulux Alkali Bloc Primer

Preparation is crucial for exterior paint finishes to stand the test of time and weather. The Dulux Alkali Bloc Primer is a premium/high performance primer that will help to deliver a perfect topcoat so that it lasts even longer.

Designed especially for plaster surfaces that have been plastered externally, this primer functions as a priming and sealing system. It enhances adhesion between the wall and the final coating colours.

Powered by advanced Polyurethane technology, the Dulux Exterior Primer penetrates deep into the surface, sealing pores effectively. This produces a smooth, even base and improves the appearance of the topcoat. It is designed to provide up to 10 times more water resistance than common primers and has good alkali resistance which protects against peeling or flaking, something that is frequently seen with exterior walls as they can be affected by changes of weather.

Application Steps:

1. Surface Preparation: Make sure the wall is dry, clean and free from all dust, greasy, and loose material. Aged surfaces should be well scraped and clean to remove all powdery material.

2. To begin the application: Check that your surface is dry and apply 1 coat of Dulux Weathershield Alkali Bloc PU+ Primer. For a smooth finish, sand the surface with Emery paper (No. 180 for new walls, No. 320 for pre-painted walls) and wipe clean before application.

3. Cleaning Tools: Clean all painting tools with water immediately after use to keep them in good condition.

Health & Safety: Store the primer in a cool, dry place with the lid on tight. Keep away from children, food and animal feed. Before using always read the safety data sheet.

Using Dulux Alkali Bloc Primer is not just the first step in/on preparing your wall for the application of paint; it's the first step to protect what you are painting - its superior sealing properties and resistance to moisture means that once again after all the TLC and finish used in this exterior painting project, it is well protected and will stay vibrant, smooth, and damage-free for years to come.
