Step-by-Step Guide to Setting Up VirtualBox and Ubuntu VM

In this article, we will guide you through the process of setting up the VirtualBox hypervisor and installing Ubuntu on a virtual machine. Follow the step-by-step procedure outlined below to complete the setup successfully.

Requirements:

You need to enable your system’s Virtualization before OR after downloading your virtual box.

Navigate to Google and search for “VirtualBox download” & click on the first link.

Under virtual box packages, click the new windows hosts and install

Go back to your browser and search for “Download Ubuntu”

Once open, click on download button with the green color.

1. Navigate back and open your installed VirtualBox

1. At the top of the window, click on New in order to create a new virtual machine. Click on “NEW” and give your VM a name.

1. Click the dropdown on “ISO Image” and click on others ….It will take you to the file explorer on your desktop. Simply click on next.

2. Navigate to your download and select your downloaded Ubuntu Image file …It will bring you back to your virtual box.

3. Click Next, Change your your password Or Username if needed

1. Click Next, set your base memory and processor between the green and red lines. Allocate a minimum of “2048” MB of Memory (equal to 2 GiB) and a minimum of 2 CPU, and then click on next.

   

2. Click Next, you can create a virtual hard disk or increase the disk size. Allocate at Minimum 25 GB of hard disk and you can allocate more, and then click on next.

   

3. Click on Finish.

4. Wait for it to load in.

   

5. Congratulation. You have successfully created your first virtual machine in the Oracle VM VirtualBox.

1. And now Ubuntu is installing automatically on your virtual machine. So please wait, all things will be set up automatically.

1. Ubuntu has been successfully installed on your virtual machine and is ready to use.
