Version 8.0 is finally here for Retro Messenger…Here’s hoping it stays like that 😅It’s definitely been tricky, a lot of mishaps and late nights, but I’m happy with where Retro Messenger is now, and I am excited to look towards the future. As always, I am open to suggestions from my users to what they’d like to see, and I hope to make Retro Messenger more polished, secure, and fun to use in the coming months.

What else can be added?

A tricky question is always what else can be added. Obviously, at such a short time in development the sky should be the limit, though I do have to take into account my own level of skill, as well as the general nature of the application. Many things would be easier to implement through something such as NodeJS or python, and I have to keep in mind the general theme of the application moving forward. That being said there are a few things I’m keen to look into, such as:

  • Multiplayer gaming

  • Improved file sharing and larger sizes

  • Voice calls

  • GIFS

As well as many more features, so stay tuned, and thanks for reading
