Summer.fi Governance Roundup: Fleets, Rewards, and Fresh ARKs on the Horizon

The Summer.fi community has been busy, and this week’s forum activity shows exactly how governance and protocol upgrades keep the platform’s strategies sharp. If you’ve been watching the DAO’s moves, here’s your all-in-one recap from Optimism fleet expansions to newly approved vault rewards.

1. Active Forum Discussions

The DAO is weighing in on several high-impact RFCs and SIPs that could shape yield opportunities across multiple chains:

  • [RFC] Onboard USDC and ETH Fleets on Optimism Mainnet This proposal opens the door to expanding Summer.fi’s fleet model to Optimism, one of the most active L2 ecosystems. By adding both USDC and ETH Fleets, the protocol can bring Summer’s fleet strategies to a new wave of Optimism-native capital.
  • [SIP2.24] Update ARKs from Core Protocols on Ethereum Mainnet (USDC/WETH/USDT) The goal here is diversification. The proposal looks to integrate additional ARKs automated rebalancing strategies, so vaults remain competitive and yield sources stay in sync with the latest market leaders.
  • [SIP2.27] Full Support for Morpho ARKs on Arbitrum Morpho’s lending layer is known for efficiency and capital optimization. This proposal would give Arbitrum vaults direct access to Morpho-powered strategies, broadening options for yield seekers on that chain.

2. Onchain Activity

While some proposals are still in discussion, one major change is already live:

  • [SIP3.7] Enable MERKL Rewards Across All Vault Markets This passed proposal integrates Merkl incentives on every vault, giving depositors protocol-level rewards in addition to standard yield. It’s a step towards deeper ecosystem engagement and more competitive vault APYs.

Active proposals worth tracking:

  • SIP2.25.1 → LowerRisk_USDC Fleet (Base)
  • SIP2.25.2 → LowerRisk_WETH Fleet (Base)
  • SIP2.23 → HigherRisk_USDC Fleet (Ethereum)
  • SIP2.26.1 → LowerRisk_USDT Fleet (Base)

3. Why This Matters for DeFi Users

These updates are governance housekeeping and direct upgrades to Summer.fi’s yield engine:

  • Broader chain coverage means more choice for where and how to deploy capital.
  • New ARKs keep strategies fresh, adapting to shifting market yields.
  • Merkl rewards add an extra earnings layer, making vault positions more attractive.

For active Summer.fi depositors and DAO participants, these proposals represent a chance to guide the protocol’s growth while potentially boosting personal yield.

The Lazy Summer DAO is making moves across Ethereum, Base, Optimism, and Arbitrum from onboarding new fleets to securing incentive streams. If you want your capital strategy to evolve with the protocol, this is the week to watch the forum and cast your votes.

Have a say: Join the discussions on forum.summer.fi and help shape the next wave of yield strategies.
