Don't learn Full stack web development in 2025/2026.

For you, most probably the end goal of learning tech is to earn a lot of money. But what if I tell you in the 1 year you dedicate to learn React, Node, Mongo, Express, Next, Golang, Auth, Tailwind, Docker, CI CD, Kubernetes, Redis, multiple UI libraries you can learn a lot of other different domains that’s easier to learn and earn money yourself without even getting a job.
Landing Pages using no-code
Put your ego aside of “Oh no-code” and just learn no-code tools like Framer or Webflow. Personally I’ve seen guys charging $2K-$3K for a single landing page, yes no full-stack complicated backend, database and complex scaling and deployment just a landing page. Can you earn this in a entry level job or even a senior role working in a low wage country just by working 4 hours a day remotely at your home? Ask yourself.
App Development
App Dev is way less saturated than web dev even to get a job. But we are talking about earning money without even having a job, so the way to earn money using app dev skills is by making apps and publishing them on play store or app store. You can probably learn React Native Expo, Tailwind, a basic UI library like reactnative reusables and backend as a service like Supabase or Convex and that’s it. With the help of AI tools you can easily make basic apps and post on the app store or playstore. No one is going to review your code or ask you how did you make that component or anything like this. If your app works, it works. Don’t just vibe code without learning coding because you won’t know security issues and best optimization techniques but learn this domain for 4 months and start publishing your apps.
Animated and 3D landing pages
You can use the no-code tools I mentioned above to make animated and 3D landing pages and sell to the clients or sell the templates but there is a really small niche market of cool animated landing pages using code. You can learn HTML, CSS, JS, React, Tailwind, Next, GSAP, React Three Fiber, GLSL and you can make most of the 3D cool sites you see on internet. But this will take a lot of time and maybe 100X hard work than no-code.
Game Development
Game is the market that’s never going to end. People are gonna play games even in the upcoming 100s of years. So you can learn Game Dev. It’s kind of difficult sector to learn than the basic app dev and no-code landing pages but it’s worth it. You can learn Unity as a game engine and can make desktop and mobile apps. So many free resources are available on YouTube so you can just type “Unity course” and complete a playlist. This is way long journey than selling no-code sites but this is the best for you if you don’t want to interact with clients directly on sales call.
So before learning any sector, full-stack web dev, ai ml, core dsa, or any other just ask yourself- “Can I earn money independently on my own with the knowledge I’ll gain from this after I master these?”. This mindset is so hard to adopt when you see everyone on Twitter, LinkedIn, your friend group talking about getting this and that package and this isn’t a guaranteed path probability of winning in this might be way less than following the traditional path but high calculated risk highest reward. Play long term game, win in 10 years and win so big it will take their whole life to catch up to you. Just do whatever you want for the rest of the life after choosing a different path than everyone else while they are grinding in the same path to get promotions.
