I Don’t Just Design — I Build

Hi, I’m Vaishnavi — a UI/UX designer, product designer, and frontend developer.

That means I don’t just craft beautiful interfaces, and I don’t just code them into existence.

I do both.

And I believe that intersection — where design meets development — is one of the most underrated advantages in building digital products today.

When people ask me what I do, I usually pause for a moment.
Am I a UI/UX designer? A product designer? A frontend developer?

The truth is — I’m all three.

I design experiences that people feel. I architect interfaces that are thoughtful and usable. And then, I roll up my sleeves and bring those ideas to life in code.

Where teams often struggle

In many product teams, design and development are treated like different planets. Designers polish visuals and hand them off. Developers interpret and implement. Somewhere between the two, small details slip away:

  • That micro-interaction that gave the flow delight.

  • That spacing that made the layout breathe.

  • That logic that made the journey effortless.

And when those details disappear, users feel it.

Why I choose to do both

For me, design isn’t just a sketch on a canvas. And code isn’t just a set of instructions for the browser.

They are two sides of the same story.

By designing and building, I get to:

  • Keep the user’s experience intact from idea to implementation.

  • Iterate faster, without waiting for back-and-forth clarifications.

  • Spot feasibility issues early, before they become blockers.

  • Create products that look good and feel right.

My toolkit

My design starts with empathy and research. Then I move into prototyping and high-fidelity visuals. But I don’t stop there — I use HTML, Tailwind CSS, JavaScript, and design apps like Figma to view concepts into interactive, prototype-ready experiences.

The bigger picture

This isn’t about being a “jack of all trades.”
It’s about being able to move fluidly between strategy, design, and engineering — so that users get the experience they deserve and teams save time without sacrificing quality.

In today’s fast-moving product landscape, that blend isn’t just useful. It’s essential.

I’m Vaishnavi Nayak, and I specialize in creating products where design, experience, and code are in harmony.
