Bavuma Confirms Dewald Brevis Could Earn First ODI Cap Against Australia 2025

The 3 match T20 series between South Africa and Australia has ended and now the 3 match ODI series is going to start between the two teams from 19th August. So, before the start of this series, there is a lot of discussion about the young in-form batsman Dewald Brevis.
22-year-old Brevis showed excellent performance in the T20 series. Brevis scored 180 runs in the entire series, which includes a brilliant century. Brevis scored an unbeaten 125 runs in just 56 balls in the second T20 match against Australia, which included 13 fours and 14 sixes.
Brevis’ arrival has brought new enthusiasm in the team
After the series, captain Temba Bavuma hinted in the press conference that there is a possibility that Brevis could make his ODI debut in the upcoming Australia series. When new faces come into the team, the excitement increases. Everyone’s eyes are on Brevis, he has shown with his performance what he can do. I am excited to see what new he brings to ODI cricket?
Coach Shukri Conrad’s opinion on Brevis
The team’s head coach Shukri Conrad put forth his point of view on Brevis, he said- I think sometimes we become too modest. We do not give the world the right idea of our ability. Like Dewald Brevis does. Obviously his age will increase, but I hope he will continue to play like a 22-year-old player. Sometimes, with experience, players change their way of playing. He is like a breath of fresh air.
As senior player David Miller is not present in the team, we may see Dewald Brevis making his debut. Brevis may get a chance to play with Tristan Stubbs and Vian Mulder in the middle order.
