Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation for a Natural Feel & Look

Breast Augmentation is a Cosmetic Surgery procedure to enhance the shape of your breasts and increase the breast size. Breast augmentation can be done using either breast implants or fat transfer.
Breast implants are prostheses that are surgically inserted into the breasts to enhance their shape and size. They are made from shells filled with either saline (sterile salt water) or silicone gel.
What is Involved
Fat transfer breast augmentation takes fat from other parts of the body via liposuction, purifies it and injects it into the breasts to enhance them. It is a Cosmetic Surgery procedure that is done to create larger, fuller, and more symmetric breasts. This procedure may also be referred to as autologous fat transfer, natural breast augmentation, fat grafting, or lipo transfer.
Women choose to undergo breast augmentation with implants for various reasons such as weight loss, pregnancy, aging, or genetics causing small breasts. Fat transfer breast augmentation is an alternative to breast augmentation with implants as there is a zero rejection risk and at the same time it helps with body contouring. This is because the fat is harvested from certain problem areas that are difficult to lose fat and tone with just exercise and diet. These areas include the abdomen, thighs, or flanks.
Fat transfer breast augmentation can be combined with a breast lift for more enhanced results. The lift restores the position and shape of the breast and the transferred fat gives back the youthful fullness and volume.
Good Candidate
Natural augmentation with fat transfer has very different outcomes as compared to breast augmentation with implants. Fat transfer breast augmentation only results moderate enlargement of the breast and improvement of shape.
For women who are concerned about the gapping of the top of their bra, injecting fat into the top part of their breasts will result in more fullness. This will help in filling out their bra size, but will not necessarily change their bra size.
A good candidate for fat transfer breast augmentation is a woman who is generally in good health, desires fuller breasts, and is looking to correct implant related issues such as wrinkling and rippling, lumpectomy, or post breast reconstruction.
Fat transfer breast augmentation is not recommended for women who are under 18 years old, pregnant, breastfeeding, or lack sufficient fat for transfer.
Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation Procedure
Fat transfer breast augmentation is an outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia. During the procedure, your Plastic Surgeon will do the following:
· Use liposuction to harvest fat deposits from other body areas
· Runs the harvested fat through a centrifuge device to get rid of impurities
· Inject the purified fat cells into different tissue layers inside the breasts
Your Plastic Surgeon will inject more fat into the breasts to compensate for the fat that will not take to the new area.
Recovery & Results
Immediately after the treatment, you will experience some swelling and bruising. The liposuction sights will feel more sore for sometime, but the breasts will be less sore. The level of discomfort depends on the extent of the liposuction.
A complete initial recovery of the breasts takes about 1-3 days. Light exercise can be resumed after about 2-4 days but with guidance from your Plastic Surgeon. You will however wear a compression garment for 3-6 days but the full recovery will take about six weeks and full visible results six months.
