Sending an effective Minutes of Meeting

Whenever you send a minutes of meeting, ensure the below are captured.

  • Meeting information:

    1. Meeting’s date and time

    2. Location

    3. List of all attendees.

    4. List of absentees.

  • Agenda:

    1. List the topics discussed

    2. Provide enough context.

  • Summaries:

    1. Briefly summarize every point in the Agenda

    2. Mention what was discussed and/or decided.

    3. Highlight any particularly significant comments or questions that came up.

  • Action items:

    1. Specify who is going to do what on the action items

    2. Add a deadline for each action Item.

  • Next meeting:

    1. When is the next meeting date, time

    2. Who will be joining the next meeting.

    3. What will be the preliminary agenda items.

  • Attachments:

    • Include any documents shared during the meeting.
