We’re excited to announce the launch of the Pro Tier for RisingWave Cloud—a powerful new offering designed to meet the evolving needs of enterprise customers building real-time, high-performance data applications.

As more organizations adopt streaming technologies to support mission-critical workloads, they face challenges that go beyond the basics: achieving predictable performance at scale, maintaining system cost-efficiency, and ensuring advanced data interoperability across different environments. The Pro Tier was created in direct response to this shift, offering a next-level cloud experience for companies with demanding requirements.

Why We Built the Pro Tier

Over the past year, we’ve worked closely with a number of enterprise customers who have pushed the boundaries of what streaming systems can support. While our Standard Tier (now renamed the Basic Tier) continues to provide robust capabilities for many use cases, these customers needed more—more control, more scale, and more flexibility.

The Pro Tier addresses these needs without changing how you deploy RisingWave. It retains the simplicity and cloud-native model our users love while unlocking new architectural possibilities.

What’s Included in the Pro Tier?

The Pro Tier introduces a set of high-value features designed to empower teams working on complex streaming, analytics, and real-time AI use cases. Here are some of the key capabilities:

🔒 Compute Resource Isolation

Run multiple workloads—ranging from ingestion pipelines to interactive queries—on the same cluster while guaranteeing performance SLAs. This is particularly valuable for multi-tenant environments and teams that want strict workload separation without deploying multiple clusters.

🔗 Cross-Database Querying

Break down data silos with the ability to query across multiple databases within the same deployment. Whether you’re joining streaming data from different applications or integrating operational and analytical stores, the Pro Tier supports a unified query layer.

⚡ Serverless Capabilities

Not all workloads run 24/7. The Pro Tier introduces on-demand compute for jobs that run intermittently or on a schedule. Save on costs by scaling compute resources dynamically based on job activity.

🚀 Elastic Disk Cache

Ensure ultra-low latency for your queries while significantly reducing compute overhead. The elastic disk cache allows data to be accessed quickly without consuming excessive memory or compute—making real-time analytics more efficient than ever.

🧊 Managed Iceberg Support

Bridge the gap between streaming and batch with built-in support for Apache Iceberg. You can now extend your streaming architecture into the data lakehouse paradigm, all without vendor lock-in. This enables a seamless and open architecture for both real-time and historical workloads.

New Tier Structure: Basic vs. Pro

With this release, RisingWave Cloud now offers two account tiers:

Basic Tier (formerly Standard) – Ideal for getting started with streaming workloads or powering small to medium-sized use cases.
Pro Tier – Designed for production-grade, enterprise-scale applications that require advanced features, dedicated performance, and greater flexibility.

If you’re an existing customer using features now part of the Pro Tier (such as cross-database querying or compute isolation), your account has been automatically transitioned to the Pro Tier—no action is required. For customers currently on the Standard Tier, we will provide a clear and simple migration path to the Pro Tier as your needs grow.
