I Am Starting a PG DITISS Journey After My Engineering”

Hi, I’m Yash 👋. I recently completed my Engineering in Computer Science, and now I’m stepping into a new chapter of my journey — Post Graduate Diploma in IT Infrastructure, Systems, and Security (DITISS).
I’m pursuing this course from CDAC – IACSD Akurdi, one of the premier centers in India known for its industry-level training. At IACSD, experienced faculty and invited industry experts guide us, which ensures we learn real-world concepts, not just theory.
I decided to write this blog to share why I chose DITISS, what I expect to learn, and how this course connects with my passion for Cybersecurity, Networking, and Software Development. Hopefully, this will help other students who are considering the same path.
Why DITISS After Engineering?
During my engineering, I gained knowledge of programming, software development, and projects like Flutter apps and Java-based systems. But I realized that just being a developer is not enough — in today’s world, security and infrastructure are equally important.
Cyberattacks, data breaches, and system failures are everywhere. That’s where DITISS comes in. This course provides specialized knowledge in:
Cybersecurity fundamentals
Networking and Linux administration
IT infrastructure
System security tools
Cryptography and firewalls
For me, this was the perfect combination of technical depth + practical skills that can open doors in both Cybersecurity and DevOps roles.
What I Expect to Learn
As I begin this journey, I’m excited to dive into:
🔐 Cybersecurity – Attacks, encryption, penetration testing basics
🌐 Networking – Subnets, VLANs, firewalls, network design
💻 Linux & Scripting – Must-have skills for IT & security professionals
☁️ Modern Tools – Git, Docker, Virtualization, Cloud basics
📊 Problem-Solving – Applying DSA and logic in real-world cases
I believe these skills will not only help me in Cybersecurity but also make me a better Software Engineer with strong security awareness.
My Goals During This PG Journey
Document my learning regularly (through blogs like this ✍️).
Work on mini-projects in networking and cybersecurity.
Strengthen my Java + Spring Boot backend skills alongside security.
Prepare for future roles in Cybersecurity, DevOps, or Secure Software Development.
Why IACSD Akurdi?
Choosing CDAC IACSD Akurdi was one of the best decisions because:
The faculty is highly experienced, many with real-world industry exposure.
Guest lectures and sessions are conducted by industry experts.
The learning environment is practical and industry-oriented, ensuring we gain hands-on skills.
Students get exposure to current tools, technologies, and security practices.
This makes learning DITISS at IACSD not just about passing a course, but about becoming job-ready for the Cybersecurity and IT industry.
Conclusion
Starting DITISS after Engineering is a big step for me, and I’m excited to share my journey here on Hashnode. My blogs will cover what I learn — from networking basics to cybersecurity projects — in a way that even beginners can understand.
If you’re also a student, engineer, or just curious about Cybersecurity and IT Infrastructure, stay tuned!! 🚀
