1. The 4–7–8 Method of Breathing

It is frequently referred to as the “relaxing breath” since it instantly calms you by lowering your heart rate and triggering your body’s natural relaxation reaction.

  • For a count of four, calmly inhale through your nose.

  • For a count of seven, softly hold your breath.

  • For a count of eight, slowly and completely exhale through your mouth.

  • Hold for a count of four again.

  • As you find your rhythm with each breath, repeat for a few rounds.
